Where it all began…
Founded in 2015, by Lucy Thompson, Tutortastic offers excellent home and online tuition to children of all ages.
We offer many subjects including English, Maths, Science, School Entry & specialist 11+ tuition. Our tutors can teach a range of ages from help with phonics for reception, right up to degree level. Many of our tutors have experience with children who have special educational needs.
All of our tutors hold a current DBS certificate and many teach in state and private schools.

“I feel very fortunate to work alongside excellent teachers who are currently providing outstanding tuition for our students at Tutortastic. Over the past nine years, the company has grown to teaching most of our students online, after supporting many students and writing home-learning resource packs during the Covid pandemic.
We now have additional group classes, including ones that are specifically designed for supporting students through their 11+ journey, including free PDF downloadable material available on our website to help guide students through the process.
We also have a growing number of home-educated students who join us regularly for online classes and personalised learning plans to suit the support they require. We put a large number of students through iGCSE examinations both through local schools and private exam centres, such as those operated by Tutors and Exams.”
Lucy has been a qualified teacher for the past twenty years and during that time has taught students in classrooms in the midlands and London and also around the world including Dubai, India, Hong Kong and the USA.
During the past ten years, particularly her time spent in London, has focussed her teaching to preparing students for various competitive private and state grammar schools across the UK. Many of her students have successfully gained places into schools such as: Kings, Westminster, Whitgift, Dulwich College, Trinity, Tiffins, St Pauls’, QE Boys, Eton, Alleyns, JAGs, Whitgift and Henrietta Barnet. She now works with numerous students and their families, guiding them through the 7+, 11+ and 13+ Pre-test process, as well as teaching home-ed students and guiding them through the iGCSE process.
Lucy writes all of our educational resources and practice papers and some of her free worksheets are available to download, in collaboration with ‘The 11 Plus Journey’.
Lucy runs Tutortastic full-time and teaches students online from KS2 - KS4. She lives with her husband and two young children on the south coast.
